ARTIST STATEMENT
My artwork is a practice of transformation — an alchemy of light and texture. I work with digital images that speak in layers, blending texture, decay, and luminosity to reflect an inner journey: the valleys in life we endure, the light we always carry, and those unseen forces that guide us home. Rooted in the Pacific Northwest and shaped by a lifetime of resilience, my work honors the beauty in imperfection, the sacred in the ordinary, and the healing energy that lives just beneath the surface in all living things. Many times, I use found objects and richly layered photographs printed with pigment inks on fine art cotton paper, then mount and hand-texture each piece to give it a unique presence. Every image I capture and use is a conversation—between past and future, shadow and light, the visible and the invisible. Through this process, I honor not only my family lineage of artists, musicians, and craftsmen, but also the quiet power of those who transmute pain into beauty. This is my offering: a visual channel for energy, emotion, and spiritual remembering. A reminder that even in our most weathered places, light still finds a way through. My hope is the viewers of my artwork will come away with a sense of awe at the beauty captured in those forgotten places.
